750 ml bottle into tulip. Pours dark red-brown color with a huge 3 finger dense off white head with amazing retention that reduces to a lacing cap. Some decent lacing on the glass. Aromas of dark fruits, spices, cherries, banana, raisins, and some slight booze. Fairly strong aromas. Taste of dark fruits, cherry, spices; with some chocolate and molasses. No bitterness at all in the taste or finish, but there is some lingering notes of dark fruits and cherries that last for a good period of time after the finish. The flavors are incredibly well balanced, and for being almost 10% this is drinking incredibly smooth, and is highly enjoyable. Medium carbonation with medium-full body. Overall this is just an outstanding beer. Extremely enjoyable, and very well balanced in flavor. Highly recommended.
I had a feeling I was going to love this because of how much I loved the Dubbel they make. I can't wait to go get some more Ommegang brews. A majority of the lineup is easily attainable near me as well(mostly 750 ml, but the price is great).
