22 ounce bottle into tulip, 2011 bottle. Pours slightly hazy reddish orange color with a dense 2 finger light khaki head with great retention that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap. Some fairly thick lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of huge caramel sweetness, orange, grapefruit, pine resin and a bit of pineapple; with a bit of alcohol. Decent aromas but not what I was hoping for. Taste of big caramel, pine resin, orange, grapefruit, and spiciness. Big amount of bitterness on the finish, as expected, that lingers for a while with citrus, pine, and caramel flavor. Fairly full bodied with medium carbonation; with a slick and sticky mouthfeel. Well balanced with bitterness and sweetness. Alcohol is fairly well hidden for being almost 10%, but the big warming on the finish lets you know it’s there. Definitely a sipping beer, not drinkable at all, but that was expected. Overall, a very nice DIPA to be enjoyed very slowly.

Very nice DIPA, it just didn't blow me away. This is brewed with all Amarillo hops, but maybe I don't like Amarillo alone in an IPA/DIPA.
