750 ml bottle into oversized wine glass. Bottle #1420. Pours hazy reddish brown color with a small foamy light tan head with decent retention that reduces to a thin ring of lace. Expected for a beer of this huge alcohol content. Aromas of big raisin, caramel, dark fruits, breadiness, fig, bourbon, and a bit of alcohol. Very strong and prominent aromas here, good stuff. Taste of huge raisin, caramel, dark fruits, cherry, fig, bourbon, molasses; with light vanilla and a bit of oak. Big sweetness of dark fruits, caramel, and molasses linger on the finish for a good period of time. Lots of complexity going on here as well. Fairly low carbonation with a huge full body, as I was expecting. Alcohol is extremely well hidden in this with only a warming on the finish noticed. Very viscous and slick mouthfeel, with surprisingly smooth drinking, but it is definitely a sipping beer. Overall, quite an impressive brew, big complexity with nice drinkability for the alcohol level. Excellent.

I am glad I finally got to try this one, because it is not available in Ohio due to the alcohol level. I hope the legislation changes that soon. A bit pricy for the bottle though.
