12 ounce bottle. Pours dark brown color with a small tan head with average retention. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and molasses. Taste of dark chocolate, coffee, alcohol, and roasted malts. Nice bit of hoppiness in the background with a good bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body, alcohol well hidden. Not much else to say really, nicely balanced, great porter.
From what I have heard, Flying Dog's normal lineup is a bit mixed. They have some good beers, and some mediocre ones as well. But everything in the Canis Major line is pretty spot on from what I have heard(and tried). Still cannot find a few, but I will eventually.
