12 ounce bottle, no bottle dating. Pours slightly cloudy dark red-brown color with a fairly dense 2 finger khaki head with good retention that reduces to a nice sized cap that lasts. A small amount of lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of raisin, caramel, molasses, biscuit, roasted nuts, toasted malt, spicy hops, and light chocolate. Some nice aromas with decent strength and balance. Taste of big caramel, bread, molasses, toasted malt, nuttiness, light fruits, and herbal hops. Light amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, bread, and herbal spiciness. Medium carbonation and body, with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that drinks very easily. No alcohol noticed other than a warming well after the finish. Overall this is a very nice and enjoyable Scottish ale that I would have again in the future.

Honestly, I have never really had a disappointing beer from Three Floyds. A very tasty offering.
