22 ounce bottle into tulip glass. Pours opaque dark brown with a nice 2 finger dense tan head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice spotty lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of big caramel, cocoa, chili, pepper, biscuit, light dark fruit, molasses, toasted malt, and light spices. Nice and balanced aromas with good strength. Taste of big caramel, molasses, chocolate, biscuit, pepper, light chili, and spices. Lingering notes of chocolate, molasses, caramel, biscuit, pepper, chili, and spices on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a warming on the finish. Overall this is one of the better bocks I have ever had. The chili definitely balances nicely with the rest of the beer, hardly overpowering. I am really enjoying this small batch series thus far.

Even if you have not been a fan of Sam Adams offerings in the past, I highly recommend checking out the single batch series they just released. Some surprisingly excellent beers so far from what I have had.
