12 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle date. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a small fairly dense 1 finger white head with decent retention that reduces to a thin cap of lace. Not much lacing clings to the glass, but there is a decent amount of carbonation streaming from the bottom. Aromas of big pepper, lemon, clove, spices, bread, banana, and orange zest. Some decent aromas here with good balance. Taste of big pepper, spices and booze up front; leading to lemon, bread, clove, and banana near the finish. Lingering notes of citrus, clove, banana, and spices linger on the finish with some boozy notes. Medium carbonation and medium full bodied, with a bit of a boozy mouthfeel. It still drinks fairly easily, but has a fairly hot finish with a big warming present. Overall it is an ok Tripel, but its a bit too boozy and unbalanced. It improved a bit as it warmed up, but not by a forgivable margin.

After all of the fantastic Tripels I have had recently, this one really doesn't fit the bill at all. Big booziness and mediocre flavor.
