750 ml bottle into tulip, best before 1-30-2016. Pours clear very dark brown color with a nice and fairly dense 2 finger khaki head with very good retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Small bit of lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of big dark fruit, apple, caramel, fig, breadiness, and spicy yeast. Very nice aromas here with good strength. Taste of big raisin, fig, apple, caramel, molasses, toasted malt, and spices. Some tanginess present on the finish, with lingering notes of caramel, dark fruit, molasses, and light spiciness. Tons of sweetness, but with no cloying at all. Great balance of all flavors. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied, with a nice creamy and slick mouthfeel that drinks surprisingly easy for 10.5% but is still a sipper. No alcohol warming noticed at all until well after the finish. Overall an incredible Belgian Dark Ale. Tons of flavor and balance without being cloying.

Another one I have not had in a while, but now that I have a strong experience with Belgians there is a whole new appreciation for how amazing this really is. One of the best widely available Belgian Strong ales out there with such a great price at $9 a 750ml.
