22 ounce bottle into snifter glass. Pours crystal clear reddish orange color with a nice 2-3 finger dense light khaki head with great retention that reduces to a cap. Some spotty lacing on the glass as well. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, floral, caramel, pine, herbal, biscuit, honey, and a bit of booze. Some nice and fairly well balanced aromas. Taste of big orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, honey, pine, herbal, biscuit, spices, and a bit of tropical fruit. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, caramel, honey, and herbal spice on the finish for a bit. Great overall balance of flavor and bitterness in this; not over the top like some DIPAs. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Very easy to drink for being 8%; and the alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is a very straightforward and balanced DIPA offering from Sam Adams. Very enjoyable and drinkable; with some big citrus flavor.

Another nice beer from the Sam Adams small batch series. They have really gained my respect and interest from these new offerings. I only have the barleywine left, but people have been saying it is a bit boozy so I may hold off on trying it for a bit.
