550 ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a nice 2 finger foamy light tan head with good retention that reduces to a lacing cap. Aromas of roasted malts, licorice, cocoa, caramel, and cola. Taste of chocolate, caramel, and roasted malts with a bit of a smokey and nutty flavor. A bit of a roasty lasting finish at the end. Medium carbonation and body. A bit different from other porters I have tried, but this is a tasty one.

This is one of the handful of good beers that Samuel Smiths produces. I think all I have left to try is the nut brown ale.
